Safe working conditions during elevator contracts

The Swedish Elevator Association works for high safety, high quality and high technical standards within the industry.

As part of this work, the Swedish Elevator Association has developed a checklist for safe working conditions on construction sites as an aid. The aim of the list is to increase safety for elevator installers and facilitate the delivery of elevator installations.

The checklist is not exhaustive and the relevance of the various points may differ from project to project.

The list should be seen as a tool and the Swedish Elevator Association does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the suggestions. It is therefore important that each member company adapts the list for each individual project. Responsibility for the points is often shared between the client and the elevator contractor and is advantageously regulated in an agreement between the parties.

An excellent complement to the checklist is ELA's safety brochure, with more information on safety procedures and protective equipment. The brochure can be downloaded from the Swedish Elevator Association's website or ordered from the Swedish Elevator Association's office.
