Financial support for elevator retrofitting or modernization
Support for housing for the elderly
Property owners can apply for government support to arrange and provide housing for older people. This support may also include the retrofitting of a lift or certain modernisation measures.
According to the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, it is no requirement that elderly people already live in the stairwell. The requirement is that the measure should promote the possibility for older people to remain in their homes now or in the future.
The county administrative board in the county where the building is located decides on the support and that is where you send your application. Addresses and telephone numbers can be found on the county administrative boards' website: www.lansstyrelsen.se. Also on The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's website You can read more about support for housing for the elderly.
Investment grants for public meeting rooms
This investment grant can be given to associations, foundations and limited liability companies that operate without a profit objective and are independent of a municipality or municipal companies and corporations.
Measures that may receive funding include improving accessibility for people with a physical or cognitive disability, for example by installing an elevator.
Applications are made via the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's e-service in the autumn and decisions on grants are usually made in the spring of the following year. More information is available at The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's website.
