The Swedish Elevator Association welcomes the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's proposal to exempt certain transports of hazardous waste within installation and maintenance activities from the requirements for transport records and reporting to the waste register. The proposal would reduce the administrative burden for many companies, not least for service technicians who make several customer visits each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its response to the consultation, the Swedish Elevator Association emphasizes that the exemption should be introduced as soon as a decision has been made. According to the association, the proposed change does not require any adjustments to the authorities' systems and there is therefore no reason to wait for the proposed transition period of 18 months. A rapid implementation would provide immediate administrative relief for companies in several industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
