\u2013 I remember the responsibility. From one day to the next it was real. But I also felt strong support from the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the first chairman from an independent company, Daniel's appointment marked a new phase. The Swedish Elevator Association would more clearly be the voice of the entire industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 It felt good and important. For me, it was about bringing more people together, broadening perspectives and making us even more relevant in matters of safety, competence and accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When he looks back, it is not his own efforts that he primarily highlights. The award from the European industry organization ELA was a nice recognition \u2013 but Daniel is clear about who carried the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 It was a lot of fun. But above all, it was a testament to the great work that the Secretary General and the organization had done. It was their success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his time, several secretaries general have held the role, and Daniel Nyman returns to their importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Absolutely crucial. They are the ones who run the business, develop the structure and professionalize the work. My task has been to provide mandate, support and direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He describes his leadership in one word: security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Those who work operationally should know that I stand behind them. I have your back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The view on the board's work is equally straightforward. For Daniel, the process is clear: the organization raises the issue, the general secretary produces supporting documents, the board discusses and makes decisions \u2013 and then it is implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Discussion is good. But in the end you have to make a decision. Otherwise, no one knows what matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Much of what he is most proud of is about education and accessibility \u2013 work that produces tangible results for both the industry and society. At the same time, the years have also been the most difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During this period, the industry has been hit by deaths. These have been respected colleagues with family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 Then everything else fades and you return to the most important issue of safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even though Daniel has changed employers several times over the years, his commitment to the Swedish Elevator Association has remained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
