{"id":2002,"date":"2024-12-10T17:16:44","date_gmt":"2024-12-10T15:16:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hissforbundet.se\/?p=2002"},"modified":"2025-01-14T17:17:21","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T15:17:21","slug":"ordlista","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hissforbundet.se\/en\/2024\/12\/10\/ordlista\/","title":{"rendered":"Glossary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Below you will find definitions of terms that you may encounter as an elevator owner.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Call button: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Push button outside the elevator car at the landing level, which calls the car to the landing level in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Call board: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Board with call buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rupture disc: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Rotating wheels that carry ropes or chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Breaker room<\/strong>: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Room containing breakaway discs and any speed limiter and associated equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Buffer: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Device in the form of a hydraulic cylinder, spring or similar that dampens shocks in the shaft bottom or shaft roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Operation and maintenance instructions: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The elevator documentation to be provided by the elevator supplier or maintenance company according to BFS 2011:12 as amended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Door contact: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Safety contact that breaks the safety circuit when the shaft door is opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Post-setting: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Automatic adjustment of the plane setting when, for example, loading and unloading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Photocell: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Sensor that detects whether a person or object is within the movement range, usually only at knee height.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Catching device: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mechanical device that brakes and holds the basket or counterweight in place if the downward speed is too high or if the lifting device breaks or has slack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Speed controller: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mechanical device that activates the arresting device when the basket or counterweight reaches too high a downward or upward speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Elevator shaft: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Space for one or more elevator cars or platforms and any counterweight. The elevator shaft is limited by the shaft floor, shaft walls, or shaft ceiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Elevator car: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Load-bearing body for an elevator consisting of a supporting frame, floor, walls, ceiling and usually a car door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Journal (Service Book): <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>List of all measures for supervision, care and maintenance. To be updated by the maintenance company and available at the lift. Requirements according to BFS 2011:12 as amended, Chapter 4, \u00a72.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Car door: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Door in elevator car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Light curtains (full coverage): <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>More photocells in a row to protect the \u201dentire\u201d door opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lifting device: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Rope, rack, chain, screw or hydraulic cylinder that carries the basket and any counterweight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Locking path: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mechanism on the elevator car that opens the shaft door lock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Engine room: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Room in which the elevator machine and associated equipment are located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Machine room: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Space for the elevator machine that does not constitute a separate room, e.g. on the car roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Carrier: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mechanism on the car door that allows the shaft door and car door to open simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Emergency button: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Push button in basket to call for help in an emergency situation (with or without communication with alarm center).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Emergency phone: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>System for two-way communication to a constantly manned alarm center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Plan setting: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A measure of how precisely the elevator stays level with the floor outside the elevator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rescue space: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Space to protect against crushing of a person who is in the shaft pit or on the elevator car roof when the car is in its lowest or highest position, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shaft door: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Door in a shaft wall at the landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shaft door lock: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Lock that automatically locks and unlocks the shaft door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shaft pit: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Part of the elevator shaft from the lowest landing level to the bottom of the shaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shaft top: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Part of the elevator shaft from the top landing to the shaft roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Side lift: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Linear elevator with machine room next to the elevator shaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sliding doors:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Automatic shaft or cage doors that open by sliding the door leaves to the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Swing doors:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Hinged shaft door that opens outwards on the landing level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stop plan:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Horizontal plane, usually a floor level, at which a car or platform should normally stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steering shoe and lining:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Equipment that guides the elevator car along the guideway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Top lift:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Linear elevator with machine room immediately above the elevator shaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS): <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>System that enables the elevator to travel to the next landing in the event of a power outage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Floor display:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A sign inside the car or at the landing that shows which floor the elevator is on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Re-feed to the power grid: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>System for feeding braking energy generated by the elevator back to the power grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Below you will find definitions of terms that you may encounter as an elevator owner.
