Applications for new distance learning open

Distance learning is an important step towards meeting the needs of the industry throughout Sweden.

Xenter Vocational College in Tumba has previously run Sweden's only higher education for elevator and escalator technicians. The education, which graduates around 30 technicians each year, is highly regarded and has a high status both within the industry and among students. A supplementary distance education is highly anticipated among the Elevator Association's member companies around Sweden.

– The big advantage of distance learning is the increased opportunity for companies that are not located in the Stockholm area or Mälardalen to get hold of competent personnel, says Oskar Andersson, head teacher for the elevator technician training at Xenter Vocational College.

High demand for expertise in the industry

– Collaboration with Xenter has worked very well and we are happy to take a new step together. As an industry, it is important to have well-trained expertise and that we then meet and receive the students during LIA periods and welcome them to an exciting and important career, says Sara Berggren, Secretary General of the Swedish Elevator Association.
