Technological change may affect emergency telephones in elevators

The sharply increased demand for data communications in particular requires newer technologies such as 4G and 5G. Therefore, a technology shift is underway as 2G and 3G networks are being phased out.

Equipment that only uses 2G or 3G will stop working when the networks are shut down. The phase-out may affect emergency telephones installed in elevators. If an installed telephone does not work, the elevator must not be used. Therefore, here is a reminder to ensure that any equipment you have is compatible with 4G or 5G.
