Travel safely with your pet

Every year, pets are injured in elevator-related accidents. Don't let your pet become part of the statistics. Keep your pet on a short leash and close to you throughout the elevator ride.

When you and your pet end up on opposite sides of the elevator door, a very dangerous situation can arise. The elevator door sensors do not detect the narrow leash straps, and the door can then close and the elevator can move away. This poses a risk of serious crushing injuries and, in the worst case, strangulation.

That's why we at the Swedish Elevator Association have developed a warning sticker to put in elevators. Hopefully, together we can prevent more accidents from happening!
